The Choctaw Nation is one of the largest tribes with a population of over 200,000. The physical boundaries of the Choctaw Nation include the whole or parts of the following counties in Oklahoma: Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha. Although the Tribal Court center is in Durant, some matters are still held at the Choctaw Courthouse in Talihina. If you are a member of a recognized Indian Tribe and have been charged with a crime in any of these counties, you should consult with Wagner and Lynch to determine if your case should be in the Choctaw Nation Tribal Court.
